Privacy Policy

We take patient privacy seriously.

When you sign up as a patient we will ask for information including your:

  • Name
  • Contact information
  • NHI number (if known)
  • Date of birth

We will link your details with the national NHI database. If you are referred by your GP further information may be sent to us. We may ask your permission to retrieve health records from public hospitals or other specialists.

We collect your personal information in order to:

  • Provide gynaecological health care
  • Retrieve results (blood tests, ultrasounds, etc)

We keep your information safe and secure using secure software systems that meet the requirements for healthcare in New Zealand and never sharing with external parties without your consent .

We do share information with other healthcare providers (for example, usual practice would be to send a copy of most documents to your GP) with your consent. When we interact with other healthcare providers we will need to share some of your information (for example when requesting ultrasounds or blood tests; sharing your information with hospitals when booking surgery; sharing your information with other specialists when referring to them).

You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong (for legal reasons medical records cannot be changed in some cases). If you’d like to ask for a copy of your information, or to have it corrected, please contact us at bookings@cycleshealth.co.nz. Records of clinic visits will be sent to you after each visit.

We store all of our health information on a New Zealand based system called Elixir. Their privacy policy is available here. We also utilise Heidi for dictation, without using identifiable information. Both of these software packages comply with the New Zealand Privacy Principles and the appropriate legislation.
